The article about Honor Flight DFW 39 really motivates many people to remember and acknowledge our veterans. Dr. Walter brought her classes together and told us to make letters for the veterans on the Honor Flight. All veterans deserve this flight to our nation’s capital.

I'm glad you got to take part in writing to the veterans for Mail Call. I look forward to hearing about the answers you receive from some of them. I hope when the video is posted of Honor Flight #40 that we can see some of our mail in the images they include.

The President’s Letter is filled with words of encouragement that I will need to get through finals. In one more week, I will officially be done with my first year of college.

Student writing that is directed to an outside audience helps reinforce many lessons of composition--tone, audience, purpose. The more often I can provide opportunities for this reinforcement in class, the more quickly students can learn to control the nuances of their writing.
